TUUCI is Introducing Ocean Master MAX™ and Shade Sculpture™ Collections
New Products Combine Art, Functionality and Luxury
August 3, 2009
TUUCI, a global leader in the design and manufacture of innovative shade structures, introduces the Ocean Master MAX™ and Shade Sculpture™ Collections. The new products within the collections reflect the company's commitment to artistic design and extreme durability.
Retaining the innovative style of the company's flagship Ocean Master collection, the Ocean Master MAX Collection is a durable, supreme shade platform translated onto a larger scale by the maximizing of parasol components. Along with larger canopy options, the Ocean Master MAX features TUUCI's new V-MAX™ strut design which concentrates strength along the radial wall. The unique engineering of the strut also reduces the weight of the umbrella and provides a multi-faceted polished exterior shell for wind resistance and design appeal. "We wanted to create larger, more accessible spaces with our signature designs, so the Ocean Master MAX was a natural progression in our product development,” said Dougan Clarke, founder and CEO of TUUCI. "The size and shape of this new platform will extend outdoor rooms, even for the windiest and hottest environments.”
The Ocean Master MAX collection will include the Crescent MAX™ parasol. The parasol will feature sweeping curves in a contemporary interpretation of a classic French Riviera beach parasol, highlighted with a classic canopy tailoring. Functioning as both a permanent and portable shade fixture, the Ocean Master MAX collection is engineered to withstand the rigors of life by the ocean, including sand and salt spray. It is the only TUUCI shade offering to feature a limited lifetime warranty. The company anticipates adding other parasols to the Ocean Master MAX collection in the near future.
The new Shade Sculpture Collection from TUUCI will draw special attention to the artistic leadership of the company, with products that are highly functional yet designed to be landscape sculptures. The flagship piece of the collection is the M1-Stingray™. Influenced by the depths of the ocean, the graceful stingray design blends elements of nature with state-of-the-art, marine-grade materials ideal for the harshest salt and sun drenched environments. "There are many design possibilities for shade structures that don't revolve around the opening and closing of a standard parasol,"Clarke said. "We are stretching the boundaries, with new designs that allow us to create shade structures that can be considered pure pieces of art.”
The M1-Stingray will not feature the patented HUB system found in most TUUCI products, but instead will be a free form that can rotate 360 degrees on its vertical and horizontal axis. Built for years of shade luxury, the sculpture is detailed with intricately laced, high-tension shade skin and a polished wrought aluminum armor-wall mast. "I envision the M1-Stingray being used anywhere from someone's backyard to poolside at a resort, or as shade for a public space such as a bus stop or local park,”Clarke said. "We want to cover the Earth with shade sculptures.” TUUCI will be exhibiting the new Ocean Master MAX and Shade Sculpture Collections at booth 1443 during Home Design Expo 2009.
