Location and Reporting Structure:  
This position is based in Miami and reports to the Engineering Manager.  
 
Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer, Level 2, assumes a key role in the Engineering/Design/Drafting domain, taking on responsibilities in the development and upkeep of new and existing products while offering engineering assistance across all product lines. This role involves leveraging existing engineering knowledge and skills in materials, manufacturing processes, and practices to diagnose complex issues, propose advanced solutions, and drive continuous improvements.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborating closely with Designers, Engineers, and cross-functional team members to contribute to various project facets.
  • Generating detailed designs, drawings, concepts, and new product mechanisms in both 2D and 3D, with a high level of proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Addressing intricate design/drawing challenges to meet rigorous project objectives.
  • Leading efforts in maintaining/updating existing 3D Models, 2D Drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Formulating comprehensive documentation during development and for transition to production (including models, detail drawings, BOM, assembly procedures, etc.).
  • Providing critical support for custom product requests and serving as a primary liaison with Customer Service, Sales Reps, and clients for complex projects.
  • Taking a leading role in resolving mechanical design issues through innovative and effective corrective actions.
  • Conducting advanced research, evaluation, and validation of technologies and/or systems to ensure alignment with demanding product requirements.
  • Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams from design inception through verification testing to ensure robust, reliable, and scalable designs.
  • Developing and implementing advanced methodologies and procedures for testing products or systems to ensure strict compliance with engineering and customer specifications.
 
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine and fixture design/drafting, with a proven track record of progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling, developing complex 2D drawings, and creating intricate 3D assemblies.
  • Experience with SolidWorks design tables in assemblies and drawings; familiarity with Doc-Vault PDM procedures is a plus.
  • CNC Programming experience, particularly with Hass CNC Centers and CamWorks, is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to tackle complex challenges.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a self-starter mentality, capable of driving projects forward independently.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels and departments, with the ability to lead discussions and influence decision-making.
  • Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision, while also thriving within a collaborative team environment.
